Lee Johnson, CEO of ETS - Engage Train Support Limited

CEO

Lee Johnson brings over 20 years of experience across the justice sector. His career spans both public and private sectors with roles ranging from Prison Officer to Governor grade, Regional Director and board member.

With a background in operational management, violence reduction and education within prisons, Lee has developed deep expertise in curriculum design, employer engagement and contract management. His work has included leading high-profile justice projects, mobilising contracts and driving resettlement and rehabilitation initiatives that help individuals thrive in their next steps..

Lee’s leadership experience extends to managing large regional business units, spearheading business development and forging strategic partnerships. As CEO of ETS, he combines his operational knowledge with commercial insight to deliver innovative, high-impact training solutions that meet the needs of learners, employers and commissioners alike.

Above all, Lee is passionate about helping people achieve success and sustainable employment. He is dedicated to creating opportunities that empower individuals to develop their skills, gain confidence and secure meaningful work. His commitment to transforming lives through education and employment is at the heart of ETS’s mission.

Kerryn Wotton

Social Value, Operations & Performance Lead

Kerryn comes to us following a 20-year career in the charity sector, where she specialised in supporting people who are most marginalised from our communities. Most recently, she has been the CEO of the Hardman Trust and Director of Operations for the Shannon Trust (two criminal charities), and she is also the Chair of Recoop, a charity supporting those aged 50+ in prison.

Kerryn has also worked in learning and development, has been a trainer, teacher, and organisational consultant across charities, businesses and social enterprises. She is interested in companies that have a social purpose and make a real difference.

Kerryn brings her wealth of experience around social impact to lead our social value work, and ensure we are maximising the difference we make for the people and communities we serve, and holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of quality and performance.

Jessica McPhee

Employment Success Coach

Jessica started her career supporting adults with learning disabilities, before moving on into emergency care in her local A&E as a Technician and safeguarding link practitioner for paediatric patients.

Jessica became passionate about victims of domestic abuse while in A&E and decided to further her career in the sector by joining a domestic abuse service, specialising in male victims. Jessica soon qualified as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate in early 2025.

Jessica joined ETS as the Employment Success Coach in July 2025 and uses her person-centred skills and experience from her medical and domestic abuse background to empower and support learners into meaningful employment.

Jessica provides 1-1 support with writing and improving learners ’ CVs, prepping for interviews, support with job applications, has links to employers and provides regular check-ins with learners for emotional support.

Jessica is trauma-informed, empathetic, and has lots of lived experience in facing barriers to support.

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog Blue, and cooking.

Leon Taylor is a highly experienced trainer with over 16 years of service in the Royal Navy, where he developed a disciplined, hands-on approach that now shapes his work in training and workforce development. With a solid background in engineering, construction and health and safety, Leon is passionate about equipping learners with the practical skills and confidence they need to succeed.

As Lead Trainer and Safeguarding Lead, Leon delivers accredited qualifications across prisons and local communities. His unique blend of industry expertise and educational know-how ensured that every training session is engaging, relevant and designed to meet the needs of both learners and employers.

Leon is particularly valued for his commitment to learner progression, creating supportive and inclusive environments where individuals can thrive – whether in the classroom or on-site. His understanding of safeguarding and learner wellbeing underpins all his work, helping to remove barriers to achievement and opening up real pathways to employment.

For employers, Leon offers not only subject-matter expertise but also a deep understanding of how to align training with workforce needs, ensuring that programmes deliver measurable outcomes and long-term impact. His passion for helping others succeed makes him a trusted leader and an essential part of the ETS team.

Abdullah Hussain is an accomplished professional with extensive experience across the railway, construction and education sectors. Known for his strong leadership and ability to manage diverse cohorts, Abdullah consistently delivers excellent outcomes across a range of academic and workforce development settings.

In the railway and construction industries, Abdullah has played key roles in large-scale infrastructure projects, demonstrating a solid grasp of safety standards, team coordination and operational excellence. His hands-on experience in these fields has provided him with a practical, solution-oriented approach that adds real-world relevance to his training delivery.

Within the education sector, Abdullah is recognised for his deep understanding of institutional operations, curriculum development and learner engagement. He has successfully led academic programmes, supporting high levels of student achievement and satisfaction.
